About Me

Hey, I'm Donté !

A graphic and experience designer based in Raleigh, North Carolina. I'm fascinated by how people think, communicate, and interact with the world around them. That curiosity informs my work at NC State, where I'm completing my master's in Graphic and Experience Design and exploring accessibility, research, and calm, intuitive interfaces.

Before NC State, I studied visual communication at Coastal Carolina University, designing for its libraries and athletics teams. Today, I bring that foundation into my experience design practice, creating thoughtful, accessible experiences that make interactions clearer and more meaningful.

01 — DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

Curious about people. Passionate about experiences.

Growing up, I was always the one asking questions and advocating for others. Why do we act the way we do? How can we better understand one another? How does each of us experience the world differently?

These questions have shaped the way I see people and the world around me. They fuel my curiosity about human behavior, communication, and the experiences that connect us. Today, I bring that same curiosity into my design practice, seeking to understand different perspectives and create experiences that are thoughtful, inclusive, and accessible to all.

02 — HOW I WORK

From curiosity to creation

Being a military brat taught me to adapt to new environments, embrace change, and appreciate different perspectives. These experiences shaped my curiosity about people and how we understand and connect with one another.

I bring that mindset to my design process by asking questions, exploring possibilities, and challenging assumptions. I value collaboration because different perspectives open the door to new ideas and better solutions. By staying curious and open-minded, I strive to create thoughtful, inclusive, and accessible experiences that bring people together.

03 — EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

What I bring to the table

My background spans accessibility advocacy, research, visual communication, and marketing. Through my experience as a Resident Assistant supporting students with disabilities, I've developed a deeper appreciation for individual needs and inclusive experiences. Combined with my curiosity, open-mindedness, and visual design skills, I bring a well-rounded perspective to solving problems, collaborating with others, and creating thoughtful design solutions.

04 — PERSONAL SIDE

Beyond the design

Outside of design, music is everything to me. It's a constant source of inspiration, emotion, and creativity. I'm equally drawn to pop culture and the ways it shapes how we think, connect, and express ourselves. When I'm not exploring new sounds or keeping up with what's happening in culture, you'll probably catch me on the couch watching my Baltimore Ravens or playing video games. These interests are a big part of who I am and continually influence how I see and experience the world.
